N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Local and Regional Issues Committee met on Wednesday, May 20th to discuss numerous items that were going on in the community.

The meeting consists of local organization leaders, city and state dignitaries that update one another on certain projects or areas of concern in Jamestown. During the most recent meeting, Mayor Katie Andersen talked about the storm sewer issues, Dale Marks discussed heavy rains that wrecked many rural county roads and resurfacing projects, and Searle Swedlund pointed out updates within Jamestown Tourism.

Also discussed in the meeting, Executive Director of the JSDC Connie Ova stated that crew camps are being explored near the new CHS project and expanding acreage to assist with parking and an increased number of beds. It was also announced that Verizon had contacted Connie and they are considering putting up a cell tower to help accommodate the influx of construction crews and others in that area.

Bectel will be constructing the crew camp and are currently looking for a location in Jamestown to set up an office.
