(NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown and West Fargo played a pair of games at Jack Brown Stadium Monday night and each left the field with a win. West Fargo took the opener in a pitchers duel, 2-1, and Jamestown won the shootout 10-9 in the night cap.
The pitching matchup for game one was a duel we saw at the school ball state tournament a few weeks ago, when Brian Wenzel matched wits with West Fargo’s Ben Strahm. Strahm struggled with his control this time around and left the game in third inning with the game tied at one after issuing five walks.
Wenzel went the distance giving up nine hits and two runs, but took the hard luck loss. West Fargo was able to scratch across two runs; one via a bloop double and the other an unearned run.
Jamestown took an 8-0 lead in game two and saw West Fargo push the game to extra innings. Post 14 won with an unearned run in the 8th inning.
Next up for Post 14 they will play Fargo Post 400 on Wednesday at Jack Brown Stadium.
