N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Six ladies from the Carrington area competed for numerous scholarships and the crown at the 2015 Miss North Dakota Scholarship Pageant held June 11th through the 13th.

Miss Carrington, Sabrina Wolfe, was awarded the Non Finalist Evening Wear Award of $200, the Youth Pageant Scholarship of $100, the Salute Page Scholarship of $100, the Youth In Education Scholarship of $50, The People’s Choice Award of $54, the Miss North Dakota Participation Scholarship of $800 and the Williston State College Tuition Scholarship of $400. She performed her jazz dance to “Move” by Little Mix and promoted her platform issue, Celiac Disease Awareness: “It’s Not All In Your Head”. She will be a freshman at North Dakota State University and is the daughter of Angie Wolfe and David Wolfe.

Miss Dakota Country, Savanna Buskness, was awarded the Outstanding Athlete Award of $100, the Salute Page Scholarship of $300, the Youth Pageant Participation Award of $100, the Miss North Dakota Participation Scholarship of $800, a $400 tuition scholarship to Williston State College, the $50 Youth Education on Stage Scholarship and the Children’s Miracle network Miracle Maker Award. She performed a lyrical dance to “Safe and Sound”, by Taylor swift and promoted her platform issue, “Busy Bodies and Ambition for Nutrition”. She will be a freshman at the University of North Dakota and is the daughter of Robert and Karen Buskness

Miss Upper Missouri Valley, Miranda Peterson, was awarded the Non-finalist Dance Award of $200, the Non-finalist Talent Award (Delta Group) of $200, the Miss North Dakota Participation Scholarship of $800, the Williston State College tuition scholarship of $400, the Big Sister Award of $50 and the Youth Education on Stage Scholarship of $50. She performed her self-choreographed lyrical dance to “Gravity” by Sarah Bareilles and promoted her platform issue, ”Positive Body Image”. She will be a senior at Minnesota State University Moorhead and is the daughter of Randy and Barb Peterson.

Miss Empire, Bailey Schumann, was awarded the Miss ND Participation Scholarship of $800, the Williston State College tuition scholarship of $400 and the Youth Education on Stage Scholarship of $50. She performed a theatrical dance to “Fix You” and promoted her platform issue, “Leading the Way With Violence Prevention”. She will be a sophomore at Minnesota State University Moorhead and is the daughter of Shane and Alison Schumann..

Miss Western Star, Alyssa Ralston, was named a Top Ten Semi Finalist $850, the Delta 1st Place Interview Award of $200, the Williston State College tuition scholarship of $400, and the Youth Education on Stage Scholarship of $50. She performed a musical theater vocal, “Show Off” and promoted her platform issue, ”Bullying: Beyond the Buzzword”. She is a graduate of North Dakota State University and is the daughter of Dean and Corrine Ralston.

Miss Dickinson, Carlie Meehan, was awarded the Miss North Dakota Participation Scholarship of $800, the Williston State College tuition Scholarship of $400 and the Youth Education On Stage Scholarship of $50. She performed the piano solo, “Whitewater Chopsticks” and promoted her platform issue, “More Than Meets The Eye: Mental Health Awareness”. She is the daughter of Craig and Denette Meehan.

Delanie Weidrich was crowned Miss North Dakota and will represent the state at the Miss America Scholarship Pageant in September.
