N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The planned canvassing board for the Two Rivers Activity Center project vote met on June 8th to certify the votes from the June 2nd election.
All five Jamestown City Council Members comprised the board and found that the initial count wasn’t too far off from the official numbers. Official Yes votes were 1773 and the no votes were 1178. The total amount of ballots cast for the special election was 2,953.
The Jamestown Canvassing Board’s certification will be forwarded to the North Dakota Secretary of State’s Office for the official certification. The special election vote was for city residents to approve or disapprove of a 1% city sales tax to help construct a $28.7 million center.
