Schultz, 78, of Jamestown, ND, died Wednesday morning, June 3rd, 2015 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown. Vernon Schultz was born on December 6, 1936, in Ada, MN, the son of Frank and Ida (Thompson) Schultz. He attended schools in Ada and the surrounding area including 6 years in Gresham, Oregon, and later in the Fargo/Moorhead area. Vernon entered and served in the U.S.A.F. for 4 years from 1954 to 1958, including 3 years in Germany and 4 years in the Air Force reserve. Basic training took place at Lackland Air Force Base in Mississippi where Vernon worked at the aircraft refueling area while in Germany. Vernon was a member of the V.F.W. for 8 years and a lifetime member of the American Legion. He married Marlene Schultz on May 14, 1988 in Jamestown, ND. Vernon began working at the Depot Café and Truck Stop restaurant with his wife in 1988 and retired in 1999. Vernon is survived by his wife, Marlene; 1 son, Sheldon (Boni) Schultz, Prior Lake, MN; 1 daughter, Lisa Schultz, Maiden Rock, WI; 2 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchildren. Vernon is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.
