CITY, ND – A groundbreaking ceremony for the Valley City Health, Wellness & Physical Education Center was held on June 3 at the future home of the million facility on 755 Viking Drive Southwest.

During the ceremony Valley City Park Board president Dick Gulmon thanked the community for their support of this project that Gulmon believes will be a game changer for this area. He said the venture is a great example of a public-private partnership working together for a common goal.

Gulmon applauded the efforts of so many people including George Gaukler. Gulmon told the audience that Gaulker’s has worked tirelessly for years to build structures like this to benefit or improve the community.

George Gaukler thanked the people who have strongly supported this project. He said fundraising continues as the foundation works to close a $2 million dollar gap.
George Gaukler thanked the people who strongly support this project. He reminded the audience that he and Larry Robinson will continue to work closing a $2 million funding gap needed to complete the $16 million project.

The three entities involved with the Valley City Wellness Center include the Valley City Park & Recreation Department, Valley City State University and the Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation.
