CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Earlier this year a former employee with the Barnes County Auditor’s office questioned the legality of college student addresses used to cast votes in the November 2014 general election. The issue centers on VCSU students living in dorm rooms in precincts 3 & 4.

Valley City resident Bob Drake asked the county if they were following the legal definition of a legal voting North Dakota resident. States Attorney Carl Martineck and Auditor Beth Didier both say they followed the legal definition approved by the Secretary of State’s office concerning the definition of a legal residential voting address in precincts 3 & 4 in Valley City.

Voting fraud allegations were raised by former employee Karen Christenson earlier this year concerning precincts 3 & 4.
