(NewsDakota.com) – There will be state tournament action on the radio this weekend from both the state softball and baseball tournaments.
The Jamestown softball team is making its first state appearance and the games will be carried live on ESPN Jamestown AM 1400/97.1 FM. The Jays defeated the Bismarck High Demons 4-3 on Saturday to reach state. Due to their opening round win over Century, they will be the No. 3-seed at state and dodge the state’s top team, West Fargo, in the opening round.
Jamestown plays EDC No. 2-seed Valley City at 5:30pm CT from Dickinson in the quarterfinals. They will be leaving from the back of the high school at 8:30am on Thursday morning with a send-off.
The baseball team returns to state for the second time in three years and will once again play West Fargo. Brian Wenzel started against the Packers back in 2013 as a sophomore in Jamestown’s 5-0 loss and he will get the ball again.
Jamestown enters with a record of 12-18 record. The game Thursday will start at around 7:15 from Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo. You can listen to Steve Linzmeier call the action on 103.1 FM.
