CITY, ND – During National Transportation Safety Week several members from county highway department crews were at the Barnes County Highway Department shop sharing work related tips to improve efficiency and safety across the state.
NDSU Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute Local Technical Assistance Program Director Dale Heglund said these seminars provide a benefit to the public and our workers when it comes to making safety the number one priority.
Barnes County Highway Department Roads Superintendent Kerry Johnson said it was nice to see so many people from around the state attending the safety workshop.
Meanwhile Johnson said it will be a historic year for Barnes County road construction projects. He said 43 miles of county roads will be mill and overlaid this year.
