ND (NewsDakota.com) The Hi-Liner girls tennis team faced adversity in the Eastern Dakota Conference Tournament yesterday, but found a way to make it back to state.
The state tournament is next Thursday – Saturday in Minot.
Matt Nielson comments below:
We lost a heart breaker 3-2 against Shanley in the first round with 3 3rd set losses. We beat South 4-1 to get to the qualifier against Sheyenne. Against Sheyenne, we put out a CRAZY line-up in hopes to get #3 singles and both doubles. Maia rocked the singles. Abby went Beast Mode at #2 doubles with solid play from Breanna to win at #2 doubles. At one doubles our #1 and #7, Claire and Rachel, had to win as the score was 2-2. Both played with nerves of steel and confidence despite NEVER playing together before. They won in straight sets for the team to state qualify for the 3rd year in a row!!!
Singles and doubles championship bracket is going on today and tomorrow.
