ND  (NewsDakota.com)  Midkota scores all of their runs in the top of the first inning and hangs on to defeat the Cardinals of Carrington 3-2 yesterday at Carrington City Park.  Midkota claims the Region 3 regular season championship and Carrington is runner-up.  The Mustangs improve to 9-1 and 12-6 overall, Carrington drops to 7-2 and 13-5-1 overall.

Hunter Engel and Ben Halvorson had two hits each for Midkota, Riley Nelson picked up the victory working five and two-thirds innings allowing five hits and four strikeouts.    Jayden Grover worked in relief for the save.  Lucas Guyzler had two hits at the plate for Carrington along with two stolen bases.  The Cardinals stranded 11 runners, Midkota just four.
