N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A garage fire in a residential area on Saturday afternoon prompted the response of Jamestown Emergency Officials at around 2:30 PM.

The Jamestown Fire Department spent nearly an hour battling the blaze of a two stall garage at 1115 6th Avenue Southeast. Jamestown Police officers kept on-lookers away as Jamestown Firefighters battled the blaze. Officials were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the surrounding houses and garages in the area. An adjacent garage had been slightly melted and a power line was burned by the flames. Otter Tail Power was called to the scene to repair the wire and restore power to the area.

According to initial reports, the fire appeared to have been started accidentally. No injuries were reported.
