N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A North Dakota town and surrounding farms have been evacuated after a train derailment early this morning.

The Wells County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that a train went off the tracks near Heimdal, North Dakota which is located between Harvey and New Rockford. Wells County Emergency Manager Tammy Roerich stated that the train is Burlington Northern Santa Fe and was carrying 109 crude oil tanker cars.

Wells County Office Deputy Janelle Pepple mentioned that 6 or 7 cars had derailed and no injuries have been reported.
