N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown had a chance to notch a season sweep over the No. 1 team in the WDA and further muddle up the standings. The Jays lead 6-3 heading into the 6th inning before Mandan exploded for 11 runs to keep their top spot. The Braves won by a final tally of 14-6.
Jamestown trailed 3-0 before back-t0-back three run innings to jump ahead 6-3. Nolan Kratz went 3-3 and drove in three runs. Tanner Lunzman started and was strong through five, but gave up back-to-back hits to start the sixth and was pulled for Nick Fuchs.
Fuchs, unfortunately, wasn’t able to record an out and saw 10 runners cross the plate. Ben Friebel was finally able to put out the fire.
Jamestown is back at home on Thursday hosting Dickinson. The Midgets just lost 8-3 to last place St. Mary’s. The game can be heard on ESPN Jamestown at 4:30pm on Thursday.
