a brief battle with cancer, Bonnie Rasmussen went to rest April 22, 2015 with her husband Mike at her side.  Bonnie was born on April 2, 1950 in Valley City, North Dakota.  She attended school in Valley City and graduated from Valley City High School in 1968.  Bonnie joined the Marine Corps in 1968 where she met the love of her life, Mike.  They were married in 1972.

They were both Marines stationed at Quantico, Virginia.  Bonnie enjoyed traveling to the many states and countries during Mike’s military career.  Settling in Barstow, California, Bonnie worked at the Marine Base for over 20 years, retiring in 2010.  Bonnie enjoyed long walks with her husband and golfing.  She was preceded in death by her parents Gaylyn and Kathryn Maresh of Valley City, a nephew, Jeremy Swenson, and a niece, Melissa Eggert.  She is survived by brothers Dennis (Eileen) Maresh, Bob (Carrie) Maresh, and sisters Mary Linn (Scott) Tangen, Pam (Terry) Swenson, Debbie (Wayne) Eggert and Connie Maresh, all from Valley City.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Bonnie was a very kind and giving person.  A family memorial will be held at a future date.
