CITY, ND – Some 43 miles of roads will be repaved this summer in Barnes County. The road between Valley City and Kathryn is a .4 million overlay project the will start later this month and take about 3 weeks to complete according to KLJ Engineer Shawn Mayfield.

Highway Road Superintendent Kerry Johnson says the Barnes County commission approved using $3.7 million in state appropriated money for paving projects near Fingal, Litchville and Sanborn.

Johnson says six projects total $6.1 million in Barnes County. He says culvert work and patching began today. The resurfacing projects are expected to be completed by the end of June.
