CITY, ND – The Valley City High School Music Boosters have awarded a scholarship check to Christian Hanson. The scholarship money will be used to help pay tuition for Christian to attend a week at the International Music camp in North Dakota this coming summer.
The 8th grade band student at Valley City Junior High School and alto saxophonist, will attend a week long band session at the IMC. He is the son of Bonnie Jo Hanson (Valley City, ND) and Greg Hanson (Marion, ND.)
The International Music Camp is celebrating its 60th year. The camp provides sessions for middle school and high school band and choir, art, pop choir, piano, organ, guitar, handbells, dance, jazz band, drumline, digital photography, drama, improve, creative writing, vocal jazz, garage band, audio technology, musical theatre, music composition, orchestra, fiddles, harp, mallets, harps, men and womens barbershop singing, and community band, choir and orchestra.
The VCHS music boosters are a parent and community driven organization the provides financial and physical support for the music department at VCHS. This equipment is expensive and would not have been purchased without the financial help of the music boosters.
