(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes High School baseball team is back with a .500 mark in Class B Region I play after a 7-1 victory at Northern Cass on Thursday. 

The Tornadoes (3-3) put 13 hits on the Jaguars (4-3), while Jon Tyre limited the home team to just one earned run on seven hits with five strikeouts. Michael Kelly had the best day at the dish for Oakes, with a three-for-three performance, two singles, a double, a run scored, and an RBI.

Oakes has two remaining Region I games; at home versus Enderlin/Maple Valley and Kindred/Richland. The Tornadoes play at Jack Brown Stadium in Jamestown on Monday afternoon against New Rockford/Sheyenne.
