CITY, ND – Valley City Rural Fire Chief Gary Retterath says the fire danger index has move into the High to Very High category for a large area of North Dakota today.

This does include Cass, Barnes, Stutsman, LaMoure, Dickey, Griggs, Ransom and most counties in eastern, south central and southeastern North Dakota. Retterath says no burning is allowed today due to the dry conditions.
