(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes High School track and field teams had another successful outing; this time at the OJ Jensen Kiwanis Meet in Wapheton on Tuesday.
The Oakes boys finished fifth as a team with 63 points, and were lead once again by Blake Hollingsworth. The senior won the 100 (11.24 seconds), 200 (22.85) and 400 meter dashes and was named the Outstanding Track Athlete for the meet. Preston Andersen took third in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 44.68 seconds.
The girls of Oakes were eighth as a team with 16 points. The Tornadoes highest placer was Bailey Skjefte was sixth in the triple jump with a jump of 30 feet 11 inches.
Oakes’ next meet is Thursday in Ellendale.
