N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jimmie women’s golf team has their first ever national tournament appearance locked up after Tuesday’s win in Garden City, KS. Jamestown coasted to a 14-stroke victory after a strong first day put them ahead by 16. The national tournament is May 12-15 in Pooler, GA.

Annie Nelson lead the Jimmies with a pair of 82s and finished third overall behind Kansas Wesleyan’s Kamie Rash who won the individual tournament. The Jimmies had three of the top-eight finishers with both Rachel Jahner and Emily Larson finishing seventh and eighth respectively. 

The other three North Star teams finished in the bottom three spots of the 11-team tournament. Dickinson State was ninth with a two-day total of 896. Valley City State and Presentation College finished 10th and 11th with scores of 919 and 1,085.

Savannah Quarters Country Club will host the NAIA national tournament with both Jamestown and Kansas Wesleyan receiving automatic bids.
