ND (NewsDakota.com) Carrington Sophomore Braxton Hewitt throws a complete game shutout over the Blacksox of Sheyenne/New Rockford yesterday at Carrington City Park. Hewitt worked all seven innings and is 3-0 as a starting pitcher, allowing just one hit to SNR’s Eric Anderson (1-3 at the plate), along with ten strikeouts, no walks and a hit batsman. With the victory, the Cardinals are now 5-0 (9-2-1 overall) in Region 3 play and are in first place, SNR drops to 3-4 in Region 3 (4-7 overall).
The Cardinals had five total hits, including a solo home-run from Senior clean-up batter Easton Paeper, his third of the year. Paeper now leads the team in homers and RBI’s. He has 15 RBI, followed by Senior Brady Bickett with 14.
