CITY, ND – More than million in new construction was reported in Barnes County last year including another million for infrastructure development according to Valley City Barnes County Economic Development Director Jennifer Feist.

She says 82 new homes were built in 2014 and another 49 apartment units were added in Barnes County.

During the annual Area Chamber of Commerce and Development Corporation banquet held April 28, Feist told the audience that some 746 jobs were created last year in Barnes County.

Congratulations to Doreen Sayler the owner of Central Avenue Health Mart Pharmacy. She received the 2015 Hi-Line Award.

Stoudt Ross Ford received the Business of the Year Award.

The Pizza Ranch, Smith Lumber Company and First Community Credit Union of Valley City received the Community Image Award.

And three people received Community Spirit Awards: Marcia Foss, Dave Vareberg and Dalene Brock.
