Hoefs, age 48, of West Fargo, ND, formerly of Valley City, ND, died April 17th at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 25th at the Lerud Schuldt Funeral Home Chapel in Valley City.  Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Michael James Hoefs, the son of Gilbert and Ione (Kollman) Hoefs, was born November 8, 1966 in Valley City.  Michael grew up and attended school in Valley City where he graduated from Valley City High School in 1986.  After receiving his education, he moved to Moorhead, MN and later West Fargo, ND where he worked at various jobs; he was working at GPK Products, Inc. at the time of his death.

Michael is survived by his son, Joseph Useldinger Hoefs, Moorhead, MN; a step-son, Jacob Useldinger, Grand Forks, ND; three brothers, Rich (Kathy) Hoefs, Valley City, ND, Kevin (Susan) Hoefs, Bismarck, ND and Randy Hoefs, Valley City, ND; two sisters, Julie Nguyen, Larado, TX and Beth (Kevin) Busche, West Fargo, ND; numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one brother, Terry Hoefs, and one sister, Cindy Roth.
