N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Fire crews spent over three hours fighting a fire at a landfill Thursday evening, roughly a mile east of the baler facility on city property.
Both debris and wood in the landfill were on fire. No injuries or property damage was reported. The Jamestown Rural Fire Department supplied two water tankers due to no water access at the scene. City staff used a pay loader to cover the fire area with dirt to keep it from flaring up.
The cause of the fire is still unknown and is being investigated.
