(NewsDakota.com) A North Dakota native who advanced to the semifinals of Season 6 of NBC’s “The Voice” is scheduled to speak to students at the Oakes and Sargent Central Schools on Friday.

Kat Perkins has teamed up with EduTech for its “Positive Social Media Tour”, which features presentations to students about finding passion, going after dreams, bullying and manners and making a positive impact in the world.

Students will hear about Perkins’ struggles and triumphs growing up and how she perseveres as she pursues her dreams. Students will also learn how Perkins has harnessed social media and lives by her coined phrase “Dream It, Do It”. Students will have an opportunity to experience a live performance featuring her newly released single Fearless.

EduTech has scheduled tours in 78 cities for a total reach of over 20,00 students. The events are not open to the public.
