CITY, ND – Crews from the Strata Corporation are removing trees to make room for another contractor to start the construction for the permanent flood protection project in Valley City.

The city of Valley City awarded Swanberg construction the contract to build the first phase of the $11.6 million project last fall.

Project manager Eric Gilbertson with KLJ Engineering says crews had to close a small portion of 4th Street Southwest today near the Sheyenne River to remove trees. Below are a few photos taken by Steve Urness on April 14 as crews worked to remove trees.
