(NewsDakota.com) Oakes High School hosted its first track and field meet of the 2015 season on Friday, and qualified for state in three events.

Blake Hollingsworth qualified for state in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.06 seconds; and finished in second on Friday. 

Preston Andersen finished second in the triple jump and qualified for state with a jump of 43’6.

The 4X200 team took first, and qualified for Bismarck with a time of 1:34.68

As a team, the boys of Oakes finished third with 58 points. Groton South Dakota was first with 76 points, followed by Lisbon with 73 points.

On the girls side, Oakes took seventh with 27 points. Shelby Gelinske was first in the triple jump with a jump of 33’7.

Oakes competes in a meet in Lisbon on Monday.
