Glenn Lahlum was born June 29, 1946 at Valley City, ND, the son of Arthur and Anna (Anderson) Lahlum. He grew up on the family farm and attended rural school until the 8th grade. He graduated from Valley City High School in 1965 and then attended Valley City State College, graduating in 1969. He met the love of his life, Marilyn Grindahl, while in college and they were married March 8, 1968. After college he farmed with his dad, taking over the farm after his father’s death in 1973. He enjoyed farming and livestock until a stroke forced him to retire in 2003. He was then very appreciative of his wife for the wonderful care she gave him. She was an angel, always with a smile for him. As a youth Glenn was a 4-H and FFA member and in later years a member of the Eagles and Elks. He had also served on the Fingal School Board.
He is survived by Marilyn, his loving wife of 47 years; a daughter, Tammy of Detroit, MI; a son, Chad (KeriAnn) Lahlum, Valley City, ND; and a very special grandson, Paetyn Lahlum; a sister, Arlene Flatlie; 2 brothers, Howard (Audrey) Lahlum and Raymond (Bonnie) Lahlum; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials in Glenn’s memory may be directed to the Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals or the James River Humane Society. An online guest register is available at www.lerudschuldt.com.
