CITY, ND – Members of Faith Lutheran Church held a ground breaking ceremony at the site of the future home of the new church located on the former Smith Lumber Company property in Valley City.

Pastor Jolene Knutson-Hanse says according to the contractor Enterprise Sales of Valley City the new structure should be completed by February of 2016. She says a few pews and stain glass windows from High Prairie Church near LaMoure will be used in the new church one the old church closes.

Right now Faith Lutheran Church conducts their Sunday services inside Epworth United Methodist Church.

In October of 2013 the former church was burned in a fire. The cause of the fire was arson.

Meanwhile the new Smith Lumber Company building is now on east main in Valley City.
