N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Emergency Managers in several counties are reminding residents of the burn ban initiated by Governor Dalrymple due to conditions favorable for rapid fire spread.
According to the North Dakota Department of Emergency Services, the fire index for the state shows over 20 counties that are prohibiting burning today including Dickey, LaMoure, and Foster counties. The fire index shows that all of Eastern North Dakota is in a very high state. Click here for the map.
A red flag warning remains in effect for several counties. That means that a combination of low humidity, strong winds and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
