ROCKFORD, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The State Highway Patrol has announced troopers around the state that will be conducting their “Trooper on a Bus” event.

Next Wednesday, troopers will station themselves on buses in Grand Forks, Cavalier, Grafton, New Rockford and Rolla to increase safety for school children as they exit and enter school buses. Motorists are asked to use extreme caution anytime they are driving around school buses. Stop on both sides when approaching a bus with flashing red lights or the stop sign control arm activated.

Failure to stop as required for a school bus results in a $100 fine and six points of the violators drivers license.
