N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Dickey County Commission has declared a burn emergency today, prohibiting any open fires such as trash and camp fires.

According to Emergency Manager of Dickey County Charlie Russel, guidelines have been re-instituted that state when the county is in very high or extreme range of the fire index, burning will be prohibited. Any other days will be fine for burning, but use extreme caution. Contact your local fire department before lighting it to avoid unnecessary fire responses and costs.
