CITY, ND – About 500 high school students competed at a North Dakota Science Olympiad regional competition at Valley City State University on March 26.

In Division B (middle school, grades 6–9) Class A competition, Red River Valley Homeschoolers took fist place, and teams from Jamestown Middle took second and third place overall.

Carrington took first place, and Central Cass teams took second and third place overall in Division B Class B.

In Division C (high school, grades 10–12) Class A, teams from Davies High took first and second place, and Fargo South took third place overall.

Central Cass took first place, Kulm took second place, and Medina took third place overall in Division C Class B.

Qualifiers from the five regional competitions in the state will compete at the State Science Olympiad at North Dakota State University in Fargo on April 18.

Teather Sundstrom, VCSU assistant professor of science, directed the regional competition in Valley City.
