N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Starting October 1st, credit cards and debit cards will be installing high-tech chips to prevent future security and data breaches from happening.
Executive Director of the Jamestown Chamber of Commerce Becky Thatcher-Keller stated that with that change being initiated, businesses would need to make a switch in the machines they use to scan both credit and debit cards.
According to a CNBC Report, banks including PNC, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo will be distributing the new cards early this year. If businesses have any questions, they can contact the Jamestown Chamber of Commerce at (701) 252-4830.
