CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A band of light freezing rain moved across Stutsman and Barnes Counties causing several crashes on Friday night. No serious injuries were reported.

The Highway Patrol says seven crashes were investigated by deputies and troopers along the interstate 94 corridor between Valley City and Jamestown.

An SUV rolled into the south ditch of I-94 after it failed to maneuver a curve on a county road 12 miles west of Jamestown.

A crash occurred when two SUV’s attempted to avoid another crash a couple of miles east of Jamestown.

Two crashes involved pickups striking guardrails at Jamestown and Spiritwood. One involved a SUV crossing the median and striking a semi three miles east of Jamestown.

Another crash on the east side of Valley City shut down part of the interstate for nearly an hour last night when a semi entered a curved area of the road and rolled onto its side before coming to rest across both westbound lanes.

Meanwhile several vehicles also slid into the ditch or median but were able to drive from the scene without any damage.

All occupants were using seat belts. No injuries occurred in any of the crashes.
