funeral service for William “Dude” Gabehart, 51, Valley City, ND will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Elim Evangelical Free Church, Valley City.  He died March 15, 2015 in Valley City.  Burial will be in Trinity “Griswold” Lutheran Cemetery, rural Litchville, ND.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City.

William “Dude” Gabehart was born November 4, 1963 in New Mexico to Thomas and Patricia (Richardson) Gabehart.  He graduated from Aztec High School, Aztec, NM in 1981, going on to attend college in Albuquerque, NM before enlisting in the USAF.  Bill was assigned as a medic to multiple facilities in New Mexico, Chicksands AB, England, Bitburg, Germany, and Keesler AFB, MS.  He flew as Aero Medical Evac Tech in the Philippine Islands, Japan, and Germany.  He was also deployed in Macedonia.

On November 11, 1997, he married Cindy Pollert in Las Vegas, NV.  Bill retired after 20 years from Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS in 2005 with the rank of Master Sergeant (E-7).  He settled in Valley City, ND with family.  After a brief period of R&R, he worked with the Open Door Center at Soaring Eagle Ranch for over 5 years.

He enjoyed movies, reading, computers, camping & playing practical jokes.  He will be missed.

Bill was preceded by his grandparents, Flora & Roy Gabehart and William “Dobie” Richardson; and his mother, Patricia Richardson Gabehart.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Pollert Gabehart and their children, Ashley (16) and Billy (13) all of Valley City; his father, Thomas Gabehart of Flora Vista, NM; grandmother, Geneva Richardson of Aztec, NM; brother, Gerald (Lynn) Gabehart of Flora Vista, NM; brothers-in-law, Garis (Pam Weber) Pollert of Northwood, ND and Loren Pollert of Sunnyvale, CA; sister-in-law, Sharon (Jerry) Pollert Harrington of Moorhead, MN; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
