N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Fargo Oak Grove ended the Enderlin Eagles run in the post season Thursday night with a 66-51 victory in the Region One Championship.
After a first quarter that saw both Oak Grove and Enderlin shot just 25% from the field, the Eagles trailed the Grovers by just four points. However, what didn’t fall in the first half found its way through the hoop in the second half, as the Grovers shot 48 % in the final stretch. Oak Grove would use there offense to create a 17 point buffer at the end of the game.
Carter Kretchman, who was named the Senior Athlete of the Year, led the Grovers with 25 points in the game. Christian Adams was right behind his teammate with a 20 point night. The Grovers duo combined for 29 points in the second half.
Enderlin was led on the score sheet by Grahm Hurlburt who forced his way to the basket for 20 points. Peter Lindgren posted 12 for the Eagles and Grant Lindeman finished the game with 10 points in the loss.
The Grovers advance to the State Championship for the second straight season. Last year they defeated Rugby for the Class B Title. The State B Tournament begins next Thursday in Bismarck.
