(NewsDakota.com) In their first appearance at the State Class B Girls Basketball Tournament, the LaMoure-Litchville/Marion girls basketball team finished in third place, after defeating Dickinson Trinity 49-34 on Saturday evening at the Minot State Dome.
LLM’s (23-5) lead grew after every quarter; one point after the first, two at the half, nine after three and won the game by 15. Anna Holen, who made the all tournament team, finished with a team high 16 points, while Jacey Alber put in eight. Kennedy Witt added another 8 in her final game in her high school career.
The future looks quite bright for the Loboes, as four of their five starters, and three of their top bench players are scheduled to be back next season.
Trinity (20-7) making their first appearance in a decade had 14 points from Kennedy Keator. Their fourth place finish is the best in school history.
In other action, Parshall defeated Thompson for seventh place and fifth place went to Lakota/Edmore after defeating Bismarck Shiloh Christian. Minot Bishop Ryan won their third straight State Championship defeating Kindred in the title game.
