CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Two will compete for the title of Miss Rodeo North Dakota Winter Show. Three will compete for the title of Junior Miss Rodeo North Dakota Winter Show. The contestants must be a resident of North Dakota, be single and have no children.
The contestants will be crowned on Saturday, March 7 at 6:30pm in the main arena of the North Dakota Winter Show Event Center just before the 7pm PRCA Rodeo event during the 78th annual North Dakota Winter Show.
Below are the Miss Rodeo North Dakota Winter Show and Junior Miss Rodeo North Dakota Winter Show contestants:
Elise Burwell, is the 18 year old daughter of Angela Burwell. Elise currently resides in Fargo where she is attending North Dakota State University. Her goal is to finish with a double major in Equine Science and General Agriculture. Her hobbies include the NDSU Rodeo team, NBHA, Dakota 50/50 Futurity. Elise’s sponsors are: Common Sense Manufacturing, Common Sense Solar and Tyra Gefron Photography.
Amy Landsiedel is the 17 year old daughter of Kerry and Jay Landsiedel of Regan, North Dakota. Amy attends Wilton High School. She enjoys competing in state choir, state archery, state science fair and is an honor student. Her future goal is to attend NDSU with major in Equine Science. Her hobbies include archery, farming & ranching, riding horse and hunting. Amy’s sponsor is Painted Creek Ranch.
Three will compete for the title of Junior Miss Rodeo North Dakota Winter Show Contestants must be between the ages of 14-16 as well as the same qualifications for the Queen Title.
Katie Bitz is the 15 year old daughter of Terry and Laura Bitz of Oriska, North Dakota. She attends Maple Valley High School. Katie’s goal after graduation is to attend NDSU to become a vet. Her hobbies include barrel racing, speech, rodeo, training horses, FCCLA, SADD and spending time with family and friends. Katie’s sponsors are Mikes Construction and Winter Farms.
Shaina Rasmusson is the 16 year old daughter of Todd and Norma Rasmusson of Lisbon, North Dakota. She attends Lisbon High School. Shaina’s goal after graduation is to be a part of the Agricultural Industry with the completion of a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Agribusiness and Sales Marketing. She is involved with FFA and competes in Ag Sales and Horse Evaluation. She placed as the High Individual at State and continued at the National Level where she earned a Gold category and her team placed 5th overall. Her hobbies include: riding horse, basketball, football manager, cooking, baking, rodeo, barrel racing, training horses, camping and spending time with her family. Shaina’s sponsors are Arrow K Rodeo Company, Shantilly Ranch Roadshow and Jane Hammer.
Eva Vangsness is the 14 year old daughter of Dianna and Gerald Vangsness of Walcott, North Dakota. She attends Kindred High School. After graduation her future goal is to obtain a nursing degree as she is passionate about helping others. Her hobbies include swimming, designing clothes and tack, hanging out with her friends, teaching riding lessons and riding horse. Eva’s sponsors are her parents, Dianna and Gerald.
