(NewsDakota.com) The LaMoure-Litchville/Marion girls basketball team gave their best effort against the number two team in the state, but in the end, fell to Kindred 60-57 in overtime on Friday night in a Class B State Semifinal contest.
LLM (22-5) lead for roughly three quarters of the game thanks in large part to outscoring Kindred (26-0) 22-6 in the second quarter. The Vikings took a brief lead towards the end of regulation, and lead by three until senior Kennedy Witt hit a left wing three at the horn to force overtime.
In the extra four minute session, Kindred had a 5-0 run sparked by a three from Brooke Hiatt. The Loboes had a look at a tying three at the end of the overtime period, but it glanced off the rim persevering the win for the Vikings.
Anna Holen had 17 points and 11 rebounds for LLM, while Jacey Alber added 14 and Katrina Hoff contributed 10. The Loboes shot 50 percent from the floor for the game, but did have 21 turnovers. Kindred had a team high 18 points from Alexis Piatz, and Hiatt added 17.
