(NewsDakota.com) The LaMoure-Litchville/Marion girls basketball team has never competed in a State Class B Tournament game until Thursday afternoon at the Minot State Dome.
Facing a team that was ranked for most of the regular season, and a team that has been at the tournament for three of the last four years, the Loboes played solid team ball from start to finish to win 58-44 over Lakota/Edmore in the second of four quarterfinal games.
The Loboes (22-4) went to the free throw line a great deal against the Raiders, and converted almost three out of every four attempts percentage-wise; going 27 of 37 from the line. LLM had a lead as large as 16 in the fourth quarter before the Raiders (22-3) lead by Fally Freije’s 18 points and 10 rebounds made a brief run midway through the quarter.
LLM had 18 points and 11 rebounds from Anna Holen, while Katrina Hoff contributed 13 points, and Taylor Hebl added another 11.
The Loboes will take on the Class B Region I Champion Kindred Vikings on Friday night in the first of two semifinal games scheduled. Kindred remained undefeated after holding off Parshall 55-54 in overtime.
Coverage on LLM/Kindred will start around 6:25 p.m. Friday on TED-FM 98.3/102.7 and NewsDakota.com
