N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A mediator helped Griggs County reach a settlement yesterday to finish construction on their new $3.5 million dollar courthouse in Cooperstown.

The County Commission agreed to pay a bill from the contractor for $274,000. Contractors walked off last May after not being paid and the building sat empty even though it is 90 percent complete.

Commissioners say they’ll have to figure out where to get another $180,000 to finish the new Griggs County Courthouse.
