LAKE, ND  (NewsDakota.com)  The 2015 edition of the District 7 boys basketball tournament will conclude today (Monday) with three games.  The first two are to qualify for the Region 4 Tourney in Devils Lake next Monday, followed by the championship.  All games are at the Devils Lake Sports Center and can be heard on FM 103.1 The Raven and newsdakota.com starting about 3:45pm today (Monday).  Here are Saturday’s results:

 New Rockford/Sheyenne 54  Warwick 44

The Rockets trailed 17-2 to start the game, but took the lead at halftime 27-25.  Jack Schaefer led the Rockets (5-16) with a game high 18 points, Kaleb Haley finished with 14 points, Ben Makay added 10 points off the bench.  Warwick ends their season with a 4-17 record.  Dana Jackson led the Warriors with 14 points.

Four Winds/Minn 88 Benson County 56

Trayvon McKay scored 34 (eight three’s) to lead all scorers and the number one ranked Indians improve to 18-2.  BC drops to 9-12.

Harvey-WC 59 Dakota Prairie 57 OT

The Hornets outscored the Knights 6-4 in overtime to secure the win.  Peyton Granger led four Hornets in double figure scoring with 15 points. Andrew Alveshere 14, Chris Keller 12 (game winner in OT with 2.4 seconds to play), Brian Fike 10 (nine assists, four steals).  Fike created several key passes that helped the Hornets (16-5) to the victory.  Freshman Hunter Sand led the Knights (11-10) with a game high 19 points & Jon Lund added 15 points (4 three’s).

530pm – Benson County vs. New Rockford/Sheyenne (region qualifier)

7pm – Four Winds/Minnewaukan vs. Harvey/Wells County (championship)
