N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Loboes of LaMoure-Litchville-Marion are headed to their first state girls basketball tournament. The Loboes shot the lights out and rolled Carrington, 52-28 to advance to next week’s Class B state tournament at the Minot State Dome.
LaMoure-LM made 11 triples in the game, that’s 33 points from beyond the arch. The Loboes jumped out to an 11-0 lead behind a pair of Katrina Hoff threes and they never looked back. They took a 27-15 lead into the break.
Anna Holen started the second half with a pair of long ranges bombs and the rout was on. Carrington got to within 11 one more time at 35-24. But the Loboes scored 17 of the final 21 to run away with their first Region III championship.
Holen and Hoff finished with 13 points. Jackie Meiklejohn added 11.
The state tournament begins on Thursday at the Minot State Dome and the brackets will be released Friday night during the state hockey semifinal around 9pm after Thompson and Park River-Fordville-Lankin play the final region title game.
