(NewsDakota.com) Austin Rene had three power play goals and registered an assist as Jamestown High defeated Williston 4-0 in the second round of the WDA Boys Hockey Tournament on Friday in Bismarck.

Rene’s first tally came early in the second period, unassisted. The other two came in less than two minutes time in the third period. Rene assisted on the goal that was scored by Nick Schaack in the second period to give the Jays a game on Saturday with an opportunity to qualify for the State Hockey Tournament in Fargo next week.

Brian Wenzel pitched a shutout in goal for the Jays, making 22 saves on 22 shots. Camden Haugenoe, who set a WDA Tournament record with 63 saves against Bismarck on Thursday made 35 saves on 39 shots for the Coyotes.

Jamestown plays in a State Qualifying game on Saturday between 1 and 1:30 p.m. against either Bismarck Century or Minot. Coverage can be heard on ESPN Jamestown 1400-AM.
