N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Increased seat belt enforcement in the state from 32 law enforcement agencies resulted in 810 citations for failure to use seat belts and 36 citations for violations of North Dakota’s child safety restraint law.

Sergeant Justin Blinsky of the Jamestown Police Department stated that the seat belt law in the state is seriously enforced.

“We enforce the law to save lives,” he stated.

It is against the law to operate a motor vehicle without wearing a safety belt. In the effort to reduce deaths and serious injuries on the state’s roadways, the NDDOT addresses seat belt use through both enforcement and education.
