N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Kiwanis Club turns 100 years old this year and to celebrate, the Jamestown Kiwanis has scheduled 100-item collections for almost every month in 2015.
“Since it’s our birthday, our goal is to collect at least 100 canned good and non-perishable food items,” said Jan Barnes, president of the Jamestown Kiwanis club. “What better way to celebrate our centennial than to give a gift of our own to the world?”
Beginning this month, they will be collecting 100 or more cans for the Salvation Army. Next month they will be collecting 100 household items for Community Action Region 6. Many other plans for the rest of the months are in place. The club will keep the public posted on future 100-item collections.
Kiwanis Club is an international program and has raised more than $100 million for 150,000 different service projects.
