ROCKFORD, ND (Newsdakota.com)  The final day of the 2015 District 7 girls tourney took place on Monday at the New Rockford/Sheyenne Gym.  The day started with two Region 4 qualifying games followed by the championship of District 7.  

Four Winds/Minnewaukan 62  New Rockford/Sheyenne 50

After the Lady Rockets knocked off the Knights of Dakota Prairie in a must win last Saturday, they would jump out to an early 20-5 lead over the Lady Indians at the end of the first quarter and take a one point lead going into halftime.  But FWM would get 14 points from Senior Center Trenda Littleghost in the second half to help spark a 32 point half.  Littleghost led all scorers with 16.  Senior Sierra Wetzel for NRS had 12 points to lead the way.  The Rockets end their season at 3-19, FWM improves to 15-7 and will advance to the Region 4 Tourney starting on Monday, February 23rd at the Devils Lake Sports Center.  

Harvey/Wells County 63  Warwick 47

The number three seeded Hornets will also advance to the Region 4 Tourney with a 16 point victory over the Lady Warriors.  Warwick had a 10 point lead at the halftime break, but Seniors Alecia Koropatnicki, Nicole Erickson and Sophomore Kari Wolfe would combine for 35 points in the second half to help secure the victory.  In the first half, those three players would have just six points combined.  HWC improves to 15-7 and Warwick ends their season at 5-16.  

No. 3 Lakota/Edmore 65  Benson County 61

In the District 7 Championship game, the Lady Raiders would have to fight from behind to get the victory over the Lady Wildcats.  LE was led by Senior Fallyn Freije with 41 points.  The Raiders improve to 19-2 and the Wildcats fall to 15-7.  Both teams will advance to the Region 4 tourney.

These four District 7 teams will meet the top four teams from District 8.  North Star won the championship in District 8 on Monday night, followed by runner-up Langdon/Munich,  Rolette/Wolford is the three seed and Rolla will be the fourth seed.
