N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Wahpeton Huskies completed the regular season sweep of the Hi-Liners Thursday night. In Wahpeton, the Lady Huskies defeated Valley City 64-52, while back in the Valley City the Huskies boys team trumped the Hi-Liners in a 73-49 final.

In the first half Wahpeton’s Tylee Irwin was impeccable scoring 15 of her 17 points. While the Hi-Liners closed the first half gap from 13 to 8 in the second half, the Huskies got big plays when they needed them. Helping the home team from off the bench Lauken Breuer hit two key three-pointer mid way through the final period.
Under the basket the Hi-Liners kept battling with Brenna Dieterle who tallied a team high 15 points and Sadie Klingenberg’s 14 points.
In the end the Huskies proved to have the upper hand one last time as they picked up their second win of the season over Valley City.
The loss drops the Hi-Liners to 6-13 overall this season with a 5-13 record in the Eastern Dakota Conference.
Boys: Valley City 49 Wahpeton 73
Blaze Irwin posted a game high 26 points as the third ranked team in the state held off the Hi-Liners for the win.
Valley City got a majority of their scoring from Ian Schweitzer who posted a game high 19 points in the loss.
The Hi-Liners are now 4-13 in EDC play. The have an overall record of 4-12.
